Toyota's Kalle Rovanpera is on track for his first home victory at Rally Finland after leading by 44.2 seconds. He won five of six stages on the penultimate day. Toyota's Kalle Rovanpera is poised for his first home victory after leading the penultimate day of Rally Finland by 44.2 seconds over French teammate Sebastien Ogier. The double world champion dominated, securing five of the day's six stages and building a comfortable lead.
Hyundai's championship leader Thierry Neuville trailed 39.6 seconds behind Ogier, marking a significant gap. Meanwhile, last year's winner, Toyota's Elfyn Evans, suffered a setback when a broken driveshaft cost him nearly six minutes, dropping him down the ranks.
'In the morning there was a good fight and we kept pushing today,' said Rovanpera, who crashed out of the event last year while leading. 'We did some quite strong times without taking any huge risks, so that is quite positive.' Four more stages remain on Sunday before the rally concludes.
