Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain expressed her dissatisfaction after missing out on a medal at the ongoing Paris Olympics. In a quarterfinal bout on Sunday, Borgohain lost to China's Li Qian in the women's 75 KG category by a score of 4:1.

Speaking at a press conference at the India House, Borgohain admitted that the outcome was not as she had hoped. She emphasized the need to accept the result and focus on coming back stronger for the next Olympic Games. "What I expected, didn't happen. I am not happy since I have not achieved what I thought of achieving here. But I have to accept it. Hopefully next time I will be stronger," Borgohain stated.

The 26-year-old was confident in her preparation over the last four years and aimed to change her medal's color at these Olympics. However, she lost the first and second sets by a split decision of 3:2, and the final round ended 4:1 in favor of Qian. With this defeat, India's boxing campaign concluded.

When asked about fellow athlete Manu Bhaker, Borgohain expressed her happiness for the shooter's achievements. "I am very happy that Manu Bhaker won two medals, it's a significant feat for India. I also hope for her bright future and thank her for achieving what we couldn't," she concluded.

Manu Bhaker opened India's medal tally with a bronze in the individual 10m air pistol event and later won gold in the 10m air pistol mixed team event with Sarabjot Singh.
