Following the disqualification of Vinesh Phogat from the 50-kg category final at the Paris Olympics, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president PT Usha provided an update on the grappler's health status. PT Usha confirmed that Phogat is physically and medically fine after meeting her at the Olympic Village's medical center.

The disqualification came as a significant blow to India's medal prospects in wrestling. Phogat was set to compete against Sarah Ann Hildebrandt of the United States in the gold medal match. In a press conference, PT Usha expressed her shock and disappointment over the incident, revealing that Phogat is mentally distressed but receiving full support from the Indian team to manage her weight.

Despite this setback, Indian athletics continue to bring hope. Avinash Sable is set to participate in the 3000 Metre Steeplechase final, and Mirabai Chanu will compete in the Women's 49 KG weightlifting category. Thus far, India has secured three bronze medals in shooting but has faced near-misses in several other events.
