India's Men's Hockey Team pivots to a Bronze medal match against Spain after a nail-biting 2-3 semi-final loss to World Champions Germany at the Paris Olympics. Spain, who were defeated 0-4 by the Netherlands in their semi-final, had previously pulled off a significant upset against Belgium in the quarter-finals.

"We are extremely disappointed that our dream of playing in the Olympic Games Final has not been realized. The team gave their absolute best, and I am proud of how we played. At no point did we give up; we fought valiantly until the last second," said skipper Harmanpreet Singh, according to a Hockey India release. Harmanpreet scored in the 7th minute, but Germany equalized in the 18th minute through Gonzalo Peillat. The Germans advanced with a goal by Christopher Ruehr in the 27th minute, which was later matched by India's Sukhjeet Singh in the 36th minute. Unfortunately for India, Marco Miltkau's goal in the 54th minute secured Germany's win.

The team was visibly shattered by their inability to 'change the colour of the medal,' a long-cherished goal since their Bronze win at the Tokyo Olympics. "It won't be easy to forget this loss. We came really close, but now we shift our focus to the Bronze medal game. We have another chance at creating history by winning back-to-back medals," added Harmanpreet.

Vice Captain Hardik Singh commented on their upcoming match against Spain, stating, "They are a very good opponent and are riding high on confidence from their victory against Belgium in the quarterfinal. They are familiar opponents for us, and we look forward to returning home with a medal on our neck."
