Indian sprinter Jyothi Yarraji, who participated in the women's 100m hurdles at the Paris Olympics on Wednesday, finished seventh in Heat 5 with a time of 13.16 seconds. This time was insufficient to secure a direct spot in the semifinals.

Yarraji is the first Indian female athlete to compete in the 100m hurdles at the Olympics. She still has a chance to advance through the repechage round scheduled for tomorrow.

In another event, India's marathon race walk mixed relay team, consisting of Suraj Panwar and Priyanka Goswami, failed to complete the final of the mixed relay event on Wednesday. Their campaign was cut short at the 33.4km mark following the third exchange due to multiple infractions including loss of contact and bent knee issues.

The marathon race walk mixed relay was won by Spain's Alvaro Martin and Maria Perez, who clocked a time of 2:50:31. (ANI)
