Appointed to the Athletes' Commission in 2018, Bindra, India's first individual Olympic gold medalist, expressed his dedication to supporting athletes globally. “Honoured to be elected as the Second Vice Chair of the IOC Athletes' Commission. I'm committed to serving in the best interests of athletes worldwide and ensuring their voices are heard,” Bindra stated on 'X'.
Emma Terho was re-elected as Chair, and Maja Włoszczowska was elected Vice Chair alongside Bindra. The new leadership will serve until the Winter Olympics in 2026. The Athletes' Commission plays a vital role in representing athlete interests within the IOC.
