New York Giants WR Davis placed on IR

The New York Giants wide receiver Jawill Davis was placed on injured reserve Saturday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Rapoport reported that Davis "suffered a dislocated patella while dancing in the locker room." He added that while the injury is said to be "slight," Davis' season is still over. Earlier the in day, NJ Advance Media reported that Davis was "horsing around" when he got hurt. In seven games this season, Davis has recorded four receptions for 40 yards, made seven kickoff returns for 171 yards and 12 punt returns for 89 yards. Rookie receiver Alonzo Russell was signed off the practice squad to replace Davis on the roster. The Giants finish the 2018 regular season Sunday when they host the Dallas Cowboys.
