Denmark Dominates to Win Men's Handball Gold; Hansen Bids Farewell

Mikkel Hansen's illustrious international career ended with another Olympic gold medal as Denmark routed Germany 39-26 to clinch the men's handball title at the Paris Games.

The three-time men's world player of the year also claimed gold at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games. Announcing his retirement earlier, Hansen said Paris would be his last stint.

With shoulder-length hair and a trademark headband, Hansen has been a prominent figure in Danish sports. However, Denmark scarcely needed his shooting skills, scoring twice. Leading the charge was Mathias Gidsel, who netted 11 goals.

Norway secured the women's gold by defeating France on Saturday, with Denmark winning bronze against Sweden.
