Sumit Antil Aims Higher at Paris Paralympics

Tokyo Paralympics gold medalist Sumit Antil is determined to outdo his own world record in the Men's F64 category at the Paris Paralympic Games. Antil, along with Bhagyashree Jadhav, will be the Indian flag bearers. Despite a challenging journey, Antil is focused on winning gold again and achieving an 80-meter throw.

Tokyo Paralympics gold medalist Sumit Antil is set to surpass his own records in the Men's F64 category at the upcoming Paris Paralympics. As the Indian flag bearer, along with Bhagyashree Jadhav, Antil has his eyes on another gold.

Antil broke the world record thrice in Tokyo and has improved it steadily since, culminating in a 73.29-meter throw in the 2023 Para Asian Games. Aiming for an 80-meter throw in the long run, Sumit plans to clinch gold with a 75-meter effort at Paris.

Despite the pressure of defending his title, Antil remains focused and consistent in his training. Happy with the support from the Target Olympics Podium Scheme (TOPS), he aims to bring glory to India again. His ultimate goal is to enjoy the moment and perform without pressure, embodying the spirit of sportsmanship.
