Despite the ongoing political turmoil in Bangladesh, head coach Chandika Hathurusingha is committed to serving out his contract with the men's national cricket team until 2025. The coach expressed his willingness to adapt to any changes in the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) if new leadership takes charge.

Hathurusingha, who previously coached Bangladesh from 2014 to 2017 and was reappointed in early 2023, is currently preparing the team for an upcoming two-match test series against Pakistan starting Wednesday. He conveyed his thoughts and prayers to those affected by the recent unrest in Bangladesh, which has also impacted the team's training schedule.

In addition to the political challenges, logistical issues caused by the turmoil led to extended training in Lahore. The Bangladesh test squad, including star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, will face a strong Pakistani side featuring pace bowlers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah in the first test match in Rawalpindi.
