Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced its decision to hold elections for the Vice President's office on September 20. This move follows a judicial directive from the High Court of Guyana in response to a challenge by the Guyana Cricket Board regarding the previous election.

As a result, Azim Bassarath has stepped down from his role as Vice President. CWI President Kishore Shallow commented on the situation, highlighting the opportunity to enhance the CWI Memorandum and Articles of Association. He expressed appreciation for Bassarath's professionalism in handling the issue.

A Special Meeting of Members will be organized on September 20 to elect a new vice president. CWI has reaffirmed its commitment to democratic principles, transparency, and conducting the election with the utmost fairness.
