Belgian cyclist Wout van Aert sprinted to a triumphant victory in stage seven of the Vuelta a Espana, marking his second win in this year's race. Australia's Ben O'Connor retained his overall lead.
Czech rider Mathias Vacek (Lidl-Trek) secured second place, while Spain's Pau Miquel Delgado (Kern Pharma) took third. O'Connor, donning the red jersey, finished safely within the leading group. The 180.5km race from Archidona to Cordoba featured a challenging climb, Alto del 14%, but concluded with a flat sprint to the finish.
Despite a crash involving Australia's Kaden Groves, van Aert's victory was assisted by his teammate, Sepp Kuss, who played a crucial role in retaining a strong position through the final sprint. Van Aert strengthened his points jersey hold, while former champion Primoz Roglic marginally reduced O'Connor’s lead by six seconds.
