Shortly after the historic presentation of the Paris Olympics 2024, JioCinema announced it would live-stream the Paralympic Games set to take place in Paris from August 28 to September 8. The coverage will also include daily highlights on the Sports18 TV Network.
JioCinema promises comprehensive coverage across two concurrent feeds for the 12-day event, enriching the viewer experience for the marquee event. This announcement follows Viacom18's success of the most extensive Olympic presentation in India, registering over 1,500 crore minutes of watch-time and over 17 crore viewers.
Head of Marketing for Viacom18 Sports, Damyant Singh, stated, "Our commitment to celebrating and taking the spirit of the Olympic movement forward continues with the Paralympic Games presentation. The Paralympic movement in India has grown with the medal-winning feats of our athletes."
India is sending its largest-ever contingent of 84 para-athletes, participating in 12 disciplines. The team includes defending champions and the World No.1 women's singles SH6 player. The SH6 event will debut at the Paralympics this year.
Tokyo 2020 marked India's most successful Paralympics with 19 medals, including five gold. The opening ceremony is set for 11:30 PM IST, and the live action kicks off from August 29 at 12 noon onwards.
