Veer Ahlawat Shines at Mandiri Indonesia Open, Tied 10th
Indian golfer Veer Ahlawat has made an impressive start at the Mandiri Indonesia Open, scoring 4-under 67 and securing a tied 10th position. He trails by six shots behind Australian Aaron Wilkin, who broke a 30-year-old course record. Other Indian golfers had mixed performances in the first round.

Indian golfer Veer Ahlawat had a strong start to the week, carding a remarkable 4-under 67 and securing a tied 10th place at the USD 500,000 Mandiri Indonesia Open.
Ahlawat, who recorded five birdies and only one bogey, is six shots behind Australia's Aaron Wilkin. Wilkin sensationally broke Frank Nobilo's 30-year course record at Damai Indah Golf – PIK Course by shooting a bogey-free 10-under-par 61. Wilkin now holds a three-shot lead over his compatriot Andrew Dodt, who scored a 64.
Ahlawat was the sole Indian in the top-10 after the first round, while fellow Indian golfers Saptak Talwar, Varun Chopra, and Khalin Joshi, each shot identical 69s and are at T-30. Angad Cheema sits at T-53 with a score of 70. S Chikkarangappa, SSP Chawrasia, and Rashid Khan carded par 71 each to be at T-66. Yuvraj Sandhu (72) was T-87, and Karandeep Kochhar (73) was T-104, alongside Gaganjeet Bhullar (73). Ajeetesh Sandhu and Honey Baisoya each scored 76 and are at T-129.
Ahlawat, who finished runner-up at the Indian Open, achieved birdies on the first, fourth, sixth, fourteenth, and seventeenth holes, with his lone bogey occurring on the eighth.
