India's mixed doubles pair of Tanisha Crasto and Dhruv Kapila have successfully advanced to the quarterfinals of the Taipei Open, held on Thursday. The Indian duo cruised past Chinese Taipei's Ko-Chi Chang and Yen Yu Lin with scores of 21-13, 22-20 in just 33 minutes.
Next, Crasto and Kapila are set to compete against the Thai pair of Pakkapon Teeraratsakul and Phataimas Muenwong in the quarterfinal round. Previously, they had conquered Liao Chao Pang and Lin Yu Hao of the local team in the opening match.
Meanwhile, the country's men's singles participants faced setbacks. Sathish Kumar Karunakaran was narrowly bested by Chinese Taipei's Kuo Kuan Lin, with scores of 19-21, 19-21. Sankar Subramanian also fell to second-seeded Lin Chun-Yi, ending with 22-24, 12-21.
