BCCI Announces Updated Squads for Duleep Trophy Second Round

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the squads for the second round of the Duleep Trophy, set to start on September 12 in Anantapur. Notable absentees for this round include prominent players Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Kuldeep Yadav, who will be participating in the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh beginning September 19. In a statement, BCCI disclosed, 'The Men's Selection Committee have announced certain changes for the second round of the Duleep Trophy starting from 12th September in Anantapur.'
India A Captain Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Akash Deep are named in India's Test squad against Bangladesh and thus will not feature in the Duleep Trophy's second round. The selectors have appointed Pratham Singh (Railways) to replace Gill, Akshay Wadkar (Vidarbha CA) to replace KL Rahul, and SK Rasheed (Andhra CA) for Jurel. Left-arm spinner Shams Mulani will substitute Kuldeep, and Aaqib Khan (UPCA) will fill in for Akash Deep. Mayank Agarwal has been named Captain of India A.
The revised India A squad comprises Mayank Agarwal (C), Riyan Parag, Tilak Varma, Shivam Dube, Tanush Kotian, Prasidh Krishna, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan, Kumar Kushagra, Shaswat Rawat, Pratham Singh, Akshay Wadkar, SK Rasheed, Shams Mulani, and Aaqib Khan. India B's Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant have been named in India's squad, with selectors appointing Suyash Prabhudessai and Rinku Singh as their replacements respectively. Fast bowler Yash Dayal gets his maiden national call-up, and Sarfaraz Khan will also feature in the second round. Himanshu Mantri (Madhya Pradesh CA) has been included in the squad.
The updated India B squad consists of Abhimanyu Easwaran (C), Sarfaraz Khan, Musheer Khan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, Navdeep Saini, Mukesh Kumar, Rahul Chahar, R Sai Kishore, Mohit Awasthi, N Jagadeesan (WK), Suyash Prabhudessai, Rinku Singh, and Himanshu Mantri (WK). As Axar Patel joins Team India from Team D, he will be substituted by Nishant Sindhu (Haryana CA). Tushar Deshpande is ruled out due to a niggle, with India A's Vidwath Kaverappa stepping in as his replacement.
The updated India D squad includes Shreyas Iyer (C), Atharva Taide, Yash Dubey, Devdutt Padikkal, Ricky Bhui, Saransh Jain, Arshdeep Singh, Aditya Thakare, Harshit Rana, Akash Sengupta, KS Bharat (WK), Saurabh Kumar, Sanju Samson (WK), Nishant Sindhu, and Vidwath Kaverappa. India's C squad remains unchanged for this round.
In the first round, India B emerged victorious over India A by 76 runs, while India C defeated India D by four wickets.
