Bengaluru FC head coach Gerard Zaragoza expressed satisfaction over the team's victory but emphasized the need for improvement following their 1-0 win against East Bengal FC in the Indian Super League (ISL) opener. The win, marked by Vinith Venkatesh’s crucial strike, also saw Bengaluru FC securing a clean sheet at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium.

Zaragoza acknowledged the significance of earning three points in their first match of the season while recognizing the threats posed by East Bengal FC, particularly after the introduction of Madih Talal in the second half. “We stressed the importance of enjoying the game and maintaining control. Starting the season with a win is crucial,” Zaragoza noted in the post-match press conference.

He further highlighted the team's dominance for much of the game but admitted the side could have scored more. Zaragoza expressed concerns over giving the opponent opportunities, particularly praising Talal's impact in the second half. Venkatesh, who was substituted at halftime due to injury, earned special mention for his impactful debut goal. Zaragoza hopes the young player will recover soon and continue to improve under guidance.
