Australia secured a series victory over England after triumphing by 49 runs in the fifth ODI, sealing a 3-2 win. Mitchell Marsh, the Australian captain, praised his bowlers for their adaptability and strategic execution, especially after England's strong start.

Marsh highlighted the superb efforts of spinner Travis Head and acknowledged the importance of having multiple bowling options to disrupt opponents. He cited the grueling schedule of five ODIs in 12 days as a tough challenge.

England, having opted to bat first, saw impressive contributions from openers Phil Salt and Ben Duckett. Despite a century from Duckett, Australia's bowlers, led by Head, dismantled the English innings. In response, a strong start by Matthew Short and partnerships involving Steve Smith led Australia to victory via the Duckworth-Lewis method after rain interrupted play.
