Bangladesh trails by 26 runs with Ashwin playing a key role, securing figures of 2/14. Earlier, India declared their first innings at 285 for nine, built on aggressive fifties by Yashasvi Jaiswal (71 off 52 balls) and KL Rahul (68 off 43 balls). Notably, Virat Kohli added a fluent 47 from 35 balls.

For Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan (4/78) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (4/41) tried to stem India's run flow, but not before India managed a lead of 52 runs. Bangladesh's first innings fold was limited to 233.
