NRAI to Implement Common Minimum Programme to Harmonize Personal and National Coaches

The spotlight on personal versus national coaches intensified ahead of the Paris Olympics, prompting the NRAI to issue a comprehensive set of guidelines for personal coaches. Despite initial tensions, the federation managed to negotiate a resolution.

The initiative aims to foster cooperation because athletes often train with personal coaches outside the national setup. Kalikesh underscored the importance of a unified approach, adding that the new programme seeks to streamline efforts leading up to Paris Games. Additionally, the selection policy for the Olympics will undergo enhancement, ensuring it reflects the sport's current landscape without drastic amendments. The NRAI will also continue to seek top-tier coaches, whether Indian or foreign, to optimize their training capabilities.

Kalikesh mentioned that NRAI will fund the upcoming elite ISSF World Cup Final, with considerable public and volunteer engagement, underscoring India's burgeoning competence in competitive shooting.
