Chennaiyin FC is gearing up for a crucial match against Hyderabad FC in their third Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 encounter at the GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday. The team aims to bounce back from a previous defeat and secure their second successive away win, following their season-opening victory against Odisha FC.

In a pre-match media interaction, head coach Owen Coyle expressed optimism despite the recent loss to Mohammedan SC at home. "We started very well and could easily have been ahead by two or three goals, but we failed to score. We must be more clinical, as we created some really good opportunities," Coyle stated. He emphasized the need for accurate finishing, highlighting that dominating possession and creating numerous chances are not enough if the team fails to convert them into goals.

Coyle also stressed the importance of sticking to the game plan, even when facing setbacks. "It's crucial to maintain our style of play and avoid panicking when we concede a goal, regardless of the circumstances," he added. Captain Ryan Edwards echoed these sentiments, noting the positive response from the team in training and recognizing the challenge posed by Hyderabad's youthful and energetic squad.

Hyderabad FC has had a difficult start to the season, losing their first two matches against Punjab FC and Bengaluru FC. In their head-to-head encounters, both teams have four wins each, with two matches ending in draws, suggesting a closely contested match lies ahead.
