India Clinches Series with Dominant Win Over Bangladesh
India completed a series sweep against Bangladesh with a seven-wicket win in the rain-affected second test in Kanpur. Key performances from Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah reduced Bangladesh to 146, as Yashasvi Jaiswal's fluent 51 led the chase. This marked India's 18th consecutive test series win at home.
India beat Bangladesh by seven wickets in the rain-truncated second test in Kanpur to complete a 2-0 series sweep on Tuesday.
Spinner Ravindra Jadeja and seamer Jasprit Bumrah wreaked havoc in the extended morning session, reducing Bangladesh to a mere 146. India needed only 95 runs on the final day, achieving this target with more than a session to spare, losing three wickets in the process.
Yashasvi Jaiswal spearheaded the chase with a fluent 51, his second half-century of the match, before his dismissal. Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 29, securing India's record-extending 18th consecutive test series victory on home soil.
Bangladesh, resuming at 26-2, suffered early blows with Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah dismantling their batting lineup. Shadman Islam and Najmul Hossain Shanto offered brief resistance, but poor shot selection saw their dismissals. Bumrah and Jadeja continued their impressive bowling, ensuring a comprehensive victory for India.
