India has secured a berth in the quarterfinals of the BWF World Junior Mixed Team Championships after overcoming a formidable challenge from Türkiye with a score of 110-99.
For the first time, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) implemented the relay scoring system in which teams must reach 110 points across 10 matches to win the tie.
Despite an early setback when Tushar Suveer lost the first singles match, India surged ahead with strong performances from N Srinidhi and U Reshika, maintaining their advantage despite attempts from Türkiye's Mehmet Can Toremis throughout the subsequent games.
India's girls' singles and doubles players took substantial leads to ensure the team's victory. India will now face Indonesia in the quarterfinals.
