Long-distance running star Joshua Cheptegei of Uganda emerged victorious in the men's elite race at the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon, held on Sunday.

Clocking in at 59:46 seconds, Cheptegei, the current world and Olympic champion in the 10,000m race, claimed the top spot.

In the women's category, Ethiopia's Alemaddis Eyayu emerged triumphant, completing the course in 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 17 seconds. The event, now in its 19th edition, featured a prize pool of USD 260,000 and held the prestigious World Athletics gold label.
