The world of pickleball is poised for a groundbreaking event as 48 players from six franchises have been selected for the upcoming World Pickleball League. This inaugural tournament, engaging both seasoned and emerging talents, spans 14 nations and is set to launch next month.
Founded by former Indian tennis professionals Gaurav Natekar and Arati Ponnappa Natekar, the league closely collaborates with the All Indian Pickleball Association. Hosted from January 24 to February 2, the event celebrates a unique intercontinental exchange in pickleball sport.
The six franchises represent the Indian cities of Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Delhi. Each team, comprising four men and four women players, mandates the inclusion of at least one Indian player. Over the league's duration, fans can look forward to 90 thrilling matches, epitomizing an incredible showcase of global pickleball excellence.
