Ingebrigtsen Smashes World Indoor Mile Record
Jakob Ingebrigtsen broke the world indoor mile record at the World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meeting in France, surpassing Yared Nuguse's previous record. Ingebrigtsen also set a new indoor 1,500 meters record. Nuguse expressed his support despite losing the record just days after setting it.
Norwegian track star Jakob Ingebrigtsen shattered the world indoor mile record during the World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meeting in Lievin, France. His time of 3:45.14 exceeded the previous record set by American rival Yared Nuguse only five days earlier.
Not stopping there, Ingebrigtsen also bested the world indoor 1,500 meters record, clocking in at an impressive 3:29.63, cutting almost a second off his own 2022 record.
Ingebrigtsen expressed his happiness over the achievement, while Nuguse displayed sportsmanship by extending his congratulations despite the setback.
