Cristian Chivu has taken the helm at Parma, succeeding Fabio Pecchia as manager. This appointment marks the Romanian's debut in a senior coaching role, following years at Inter Milan’s youth teams.

Parma, struggling in the Serie A relegation zone, hopes for a change in fortunes after Pecchia's departure due to a string of defeats. Chivu is set to lead the team along with assistant manager Antonio Gagliardi, technical assistant Angelo Palombo, and goalkeeper coach Nicola Pavarini.

The team faces a crucial match against Bologna this Sunday. Parma sits in 18th place with 20 points, just one point shy of moving out of the relegation area.
