Venkatesh Iyer Ready to Lead Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2025

Venkatesh Iyer, an all-rounder, expresses readiness to lead Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2025, despite lacking captaincy experience. He emphasizes leadership over the title and values being a role model. Iyer, previously released and then repurchased by KKR, continues to contribute significantly to the team.

In a bold declaration, all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer has announced his preparedness to lead the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2025 season, despite having no prior captaincy experience in competitive cricket.

The reigning champions are set to face the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their opening match at the iconic Eden Gardens, but have yet to reveal their captain for the season. The previous captain, Shreyas Iyer, led them to a 2024 IPL title before being acquired by Punjab Kings.

Venkatesh Iyer, confident in his leadership abilities, highlighted the importance of setting an example and being a role model. He emphasized that leadership goes beyond a mere title, indicating his readiness to contribute meaningfully to the team's success on and off the field.
