Tensions arose in Telangana as Union Minister G Kishan Reddy accused the state's Congress government of obstructing public celebrations following India's cricket victory in the Champions Trophy. Reddy, who also leads the state BJP, released videos showing police actions against fans.
Reddy claimed the government was curbing celebrations, branding the scenario as disgraceful. This coincided with incidents on Sunday when police were allegedly seen managing crowds at Dilsukhnagar after the cricket match against New Zealand, supposedly involving aggressive measures.
However, a police official dismissed these accusations, explaining the need for clearing blocked roads to facilitate ambulances. Meanwhile, Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy criticized Reddy's assertions, suggesting he was spreading false narratives to undermine the Congress government's support for the victory.
