The 2025 World Para Athletics Grand Prix began with outstanding displays from athletes around the globe, highlighting a significant presence of Indian talent. With 280 competitors from 20 nations battling in 98 events over three days, this meeting stands as a pivotal occasion on the international para-athletics calendar.
India delivered a dominating performance in the Men's Discus Throw F11, capturing all podium positions. Sagar led with a 34.84-meter throw, Balaji Rajendran took silver, and Janak Singh Harsana won bronze. In the Women's 100 meters across multiple classes, Australia's Rhiannon Clarke seized gold, and India's Preeti Pal followed with silver.
Brazil's Joeferson Marinho de Oliveira excelled in the Men's 100 meters T11 and T12, securing gold in 11.17 seconds. India's presence remained strong as Vishu and Pragadeeshwara Raja Moorthy completed the podium in silver and bronze respectively. The grand event marked India's prowess across various field and track events.
