In a significant change, the IPL match between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians, initially set for May 11 in Dharamsala, has been moved to Ahmedabad. This adjustment was necessary due to the Dharamsala airport shutdown following military operations against terror bases in Pakistan, affecting commercial flights.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the venue change, stating it was necessitated by logistical difficulties. The match retains its original time slot of 3:30 PM IST at the Narendra Modi Stadium, ensuring no disruption in the schedule for fans.
Anil Patel, secretary of the Gujarat Cricket Association, stated that the BCCI's request was immediately accepted, allowing the smooth relocation of the match to Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, teams face travel challenges with airports closed, including finding alternative routes to reach their next destinations.
