Pakistan's sporting community is on edge as the nation's hockey teams await government clearance to participate in two major events in India. The participation remains uncertain because the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) have not yet received the green light.
Sources from the Indian sports ministry have indicated that any attempt to block Pakistani teams from participating would breach the Olympic Charter. However, as confirmed by PHF Secretary General Rana Mujahid, an official inquiry for clearance has been sent to the PSB with no response yet.
PSB spokesperson Khurrum Shahzad stated that decisions are pending with government bodies. The situation underscores the delicate balancing act of sports diplomacy amidst geopolitical tensions between the neighboring countries.
