Nikhat Zareen, one of India's foremost boxing talents, is gearing up to bring home a medal from the 2025 World Boxing Championships scheduled in Liverpool this September. Following a disheartening exit at the pre-quarter-finals of the Paris 2024 Olympics, this event represents Zareen's re-entry onto the global stage for India.
Recently securing a silver medal at the Elite Women's Boxing Tournament 2025, the 29-year-old athlete is intensifying her preparations and remains optimistic about her prospects in the championship. Coaches are reportedly working to ensure that Zareen and the entire team achieve peak fitness levels.
This event, sanctioned by the newly formed World Boxing organization, will be the inaugural championships, showcasing 20 divisions, split equally between men and women.
