Sheffield Wednesday and Manager Danny Rohl Part Ways
Sheffield Wednesday has parted ways with manager Danny Rohl by mutual consent, ahead of the new season. Rohl, who took charge in October 2023, helped the club secure a 12th-place finish last season. The club faces transfer restrictions due to unpaid player wages.
Sheffield Wednesday has announced the mutual departure of manager Danny Rohl, just under two weeks before the new season kick-off. The 36-year-old German took over the club's managerial duties in October 2023 and succeeded in steering the team to a stable 12th-place finish last season.
In a statement, the club expressed gratitude towards Rohl and his team, wishing them well in future endeavors. However, Wednesday is currently under transfer restrictions, with the English Football League charging the club last month for failing to meet player wage obligations.
Meanwhile, owner Dejphon Chansiri faces charges for breaching EFL regulations and is reportedly exploring options to sell the Hillsborough-based club. The team is set to start its Championship campaign on August 10 against recently relegated Leicester City.
