India's batsmen displayed a formidable performance on the third day of the fifth Test against England, setting a challenging 374-run target for their opponents. The day was highlighted by Yashasvi Jaiswal's impressive knock of 118, alongside strong contributions from Akash Deep, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar.
Resuming at 75 for two, Jaiswal showcased his prowess, scoring his second century of the series with 14 fours and two sixes. Akash Deep added a crucial 66 runs with 12 fours, marking his maiden half-century. Jadeja continued his consistent form with a vital 53 off 77 balls, further strengthening India's innings.
Towards the innings' close, Sundar played a quickfire innings of 53 off just 46 balls, with Prasidh Krishna supporting to extend India's lead over 350 runs. For England, Josh Tongue picked up five wickets, although their task remains cut out as they trail India by 373 runs.
