Rishabh Pant Leads India A Against South Africa

Rishabh Pant, having recovered from a foot injury, is named captain of India A for a series against South Africa A. The matches provide key preparation time before India's Test series against South Africa. Several key players like KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan join Pant in the squad.

India's wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has been appointed captain of the national A team for a red-ball series against South Africa A. Pant, recovering from a July foot injury, returns in a leadership role for the series in Bengaluru beginning October 30.

Pant sustained a foot injury during a Test match against England and missed subsequent series, including the Asia Cup. Now returned to form, Pant will head the squad, which includes established players such as KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan, who is the vice-captain.

The South Africa A team features key players, including their captain Temba Bavuma. The series acts as crucial preparation ahead of India’s home Test series against South Africa, which kicks off on November 14 in Kolkata.
