Set to take place in North Goa from October 31 to November 27, the prestigious tournament returns to India after 23 years, featuring 206 top chess players from 82 countries. The event's anthem, voiced by renowned artist Daler Mehndi, captures Goa's vibrancy, while the logo reflects its coastal charm and strategic elegance.
Goa's Chief Minister emphasized the pride of hosting such a significant global chess event, aligning with the state's vision to become a premier international sporting destination. The tournament will highlight Indian talents, including reigning World Champion D Gukesh, and introduce the 'Messi of Chess,' 12-year-old Faustino Oro from Argentina.
The emblematic logo features designs of a palm tree, checkerboard pattern, and a stylized sun, symbolizing Goa's inviting climate. The musical anthem to be released has a spirited theme 'It's Your Move,' signifying India's growing chess prowess and energizing the chess community nationwide.
