In an unusual training session at Eden Gardens, India's Sai Sudharsan and Dhruv Jurel employed a high-risk method during nets, facing spinners with just one pad on, aiming to refine their front-foot technique against turning balls.
Head Coach Gautam Gambhir observed Sudharsan, who is in line for a Test spot due to Shubman Gill's injury. Gambhir and batting coach Sitanshu Kotak offered Sudharsan advice, particularly as he seemed uncomfortable facing pacers during the session.
Nitish Reddy, a promising right-hander, was called from the India A series to potentially replace Gill. Despite tight constraints, Reddy has arrived in Kolkata, poised to join the national team roster in Guwahati.
