Despite facing personal and physical setbacks, including missing the Paris Olympics, Arundhati defeated Leonie Muller in her international return, dedicated to her mother's health struggles.
As the world ushered in the new year, former world youth champion Arundhati Choudhary underwent wrist surgery in a Mumbai hospital. Surgeons inserted a plate with seven screws, limiting her wrist movement and dreams of competing in the Paris Olympics.
The 23-year-old from Kota faced a challenging period, missing out on the Paris Olympics and dealing with her mother's health issues. Despite doctors predicting a year-long recovery, Arundhati made a triumphant international return after 18 months, defeating World Cup medallist Leonie Muller to advance to the 70kg final.
Guided by coach Chhote Lal Yadav, Arundhati embarked on a rigorous rehabilitation, focusing on fitness and one-handed training. Her perseverance paid off as she dominated the semifinal, setting her sights on future challenges like the Asian Championships and Commonwealth Games.
