Young Tigresses Gear Up for Uzbekistan Friendlies

The Indian U20 women's football team is set to play friendly matches against Uzbekistan at the FC Madras Academy. Head coach Joakim Alexandersson has announced a 24-member squad for these games as part of preparations for the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup in which India is drawn in Group C.

The Indian U20 women's football team is poised for two significant friendly matches against Uzbekistan scheduled for November 29 and December 2. These matches will be hosted at the FC Madras Academy in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, and fall within the FIFA women's international match window.

In a move aimed at strengthening the squad for the upcoming 2026 AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup, head coach Joakim Alexandersson has selected a 24-member team. This forms part of India's broader strategy to excel in the tournament, where they are grouped with formidable teams like Japan, Australia, and Chinese Taipei in Group C.

The matches against Uzbekistan will be held behind closed doors, with both games kicking off at 5pm IST. The Indian squad has been in training at the FC Madras Academy since November 11. Previously, the team traveled to Shymkent, playing friendlies against Kazakhstan U19, achieving a win and a draw.
