Meenakshi Rohilla, representing Guru Nanak Dev University, delivered an impressive performance at the Khelo India University Games, clinching four gold medals. Her prowess was evident as she dominated various cycling events, including the women's Scratch event and the Team Pursuit title on the track.
Despite her valiant efforts, Rohilla fell short of a fifth gold in the 3km Individual Pursuit final, succumbing to the fresher legs of Kalinga Institute's Khoirom Rejiya Devi. Rohilla, who trains at Netaji Subhash National Institute of Sports, expressed disappointment at not winning the event where she holds a national record.
Rohilla's contributions helped GNDU emerge second in the medal tally with 26 golds. The games also witnessed notable performances by GNDU's skeet shooters and wrestlers from Lovely Professional University, illustrating the competitive spirit of the event.
