Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, Raksha Khadse, praised the Khelo India University Games 2025 for empowering young athletes and fostering national unity during its closing ceremony. She emphasized the games' role in providing an arena for cultural exchange, bringing athletes from across the nation together in a display of community and excellence.
Khadse remarked that sports transcend the mere pursuit of medals, acting as a significant soft power on the international stage. She highlighted Prime Minister Modi's vision of youth as the country's future and stressed the importance of inter-state cultural understanding for building a developed nation.
The minister extended congratulations to all participating athletes, celebrating their involvement as the dawn of new opportunities. Chandigarh University triumphed in the games, thanks largely to its prowess in Canoe and Kayaking, securing 67 medals overall. The event, held over 12 days, saw Lovely Professional University and Guru Nanak Dev University finish in second and third place respectively.
