Jharkhand clinched a thrilling 28-run victory against Tamil Nadu in the Elite Group D match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, thanks to strong performances by Kumar Kushagra and Virat Singh. The two batsmen led Jharkhand to a formidable score of 207, forming the backbone of the innings.
In pursuit of Jharkhand's total, Tamil Nadu showed promise with Sai Sudharsan's 64, reaching 124 for 2 in 14 overs. However, a sudden collapse ensued following Sudharsan's untimely run-out, leaving Tamil Nadu at 179 for 7 at the close of play. Jharkhand's disciplined bowling attack, notably Sushant Mishra and Bal Krishna, helped seal the win.
Meanwhile, Saurashtra narrowly defeated Karnataka by one run in another gripping contest. The collective effort of Saurashtra's bowlers, including Chetan Sakariya and Jaydev Unadkat, successfully defended their score of 178, outpacing Karnataka's 177 for 9. Despite a valiant effort by Karnataka's Devdutt Padikkal, Saurashtra emerged victorious.
