Marathon Bridges Army and Youth in Poonch

In Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, a marathon near the Line of Control was organized by the Army, attracting over 1,500 participants. This sports event, part of the Mendhar festival, aimed at promoting fitness among the youth and enhancing civil-military relations, fostering local pride and unity.

On Tuesday, hundreds of young participants joined an Army-sponsored marathon near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, in an event that highlighted fitness and civil-military relations.

The marathon, flagged off by Brigadier Rahul Kumar of the Bhimber Gali Brigade, encouraged the youth to consider careers in the armed forces while promoting fitness as a lifestyle.

Part of the Mendhar festival, the marathon drew more than 1,500 runners, underscoring sports as a mechanism to strengthen ties between the military and local communities, fostering shared pride and unity.
