Marathon Bridges Army and Youth in Poonch

On Tuesday, hundreds of young participants joined an Army-sponsored marathon near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, in an event that highlighted fitness and civil-military relations.

The marathon, flagged off by Brigadier Rahul Kumar of the Bhimber Gali Brigade, encouraged the youth to consider careers in the armed forces while promoting fitness as a lifestyle.

Part of the Mendhar festival, the marathon drew more than 1,500 runners, underscoring sports as a mechanism to strengthen ties between the military and local communities, fostering shared pride and unity.
