Formula One Returns to Portimao for 2027-2028
Formula One is set to return to Portugal's Portimao circuit for races in 2027 and 2028. The Algarve International circuit, which last hosted the Portuguese Grand Prix in 2020 and 2021, will once again welcome the high-speed motorsport events, as confirmed on Tuesday.
In a thrilling announcement for motorsport enthusiasts, Formula One confirmed its return to Portugal's iconic Portimao circuit for the 2027 and 2028 racing seasons. This decision sees the continuation of a celebrated relationship with the Algarve International circuit.
Portimao previously hosted the prestigious Portuguese Grand Prix in 2020 and 2021, amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The races were well-received, rekindling the passion for F1 in the region.
