In a shocking incident at a kabaddi tournament in Mohali, three suspects have been identified in the murder of player-promoter Kanwar Digvijay Singh, alias Rana Balachauria. The attack occurred on Monday, leaving the 30-year-old critically injured. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was declared dead.

The Mohali Police revealed on Tuesday that the assailants belonged to a gang seeking dominance over local kabaddi tournaments. The gang, reportedly connected to jailed gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, saw Balachauria as a threat. The shooters, identified as Aditya Kapoor and Karan Pathak, are affiliated with the Doni Bal and Lucky Patial gang.

The murder has reignited concerns over safety at sporting events, reminiscent of past incidents in Punjab. The opposition has criticized the state government for failing to maintain law and order. Twelve police teams are actively investigating, hoping to arrest the perpetrators soon.
