Indian assistant cricket coach Ryan ten Doeschate candidly addressed the performances of players Nitish Kumar Reddy and Rohit Sharma. Despite being given multiple opportunities, Reddy has not notably improved, lacking impact in recent games. His failure to capitalize on his skills was evident in the second ODI against New Zealand.
Ten Doeschate also highlighted that Rohit Sharma, despite participating in recent domestic matches, seems to be lacking sufficient on-field action, affecting his fluency at the crease. Rohit's adaptability and current form have faced challenges, particularly under difficult pitch conditions, according to ten Doeschate.
In light of the current team lineup, the Indian management is considering strategic changes, such as positioning KL Rahul higher in the batting order. Additionally, the focus remains on optimizing the team's all-rounder roles and assessing player readiness and form within the series framework.
