Lahore's unpredictable weather has prompted the Pakistan Cricket Board to announce new start times for their upcoming T20 series against Australia. Originally scheduled for 6 PM, the matches will now kick off at 4 PM, owing to concerns over visibility and safety due to persistent fog in the region.
The decision comes in light of Lahore's current weather conditions, which have also affected local travel, with motorways and highways remaining closed for extended periods. Fog-related visibility problems have been particularly problematic for transportation in Punjab.
The series, beginning on January 29 and concluding on February 1, will be Australia's first visit to Pakistan since April 2022. A security delegation from Australia has already assessed Lahore's venue, accommodations, and travel logistics to ensure a smooth series.
