Australia's Will Malajczuk etched his name into the ICC Men's Under-19 Cricket World Cup record books by scoring the fastest century in the tournament's storied history. In a commanding performance against Japan, Malajczuk reached his ton in a mere 51 deliveries, propelling his side to an imposing eight-wicket victory.

Malajczuk, a left-handed batsman, launched a ferocious attack on Japan's bowling line-up, compiling 102 runs off 55 balls. His explosive innings featured 12 boundaries and five towering sixes, culminating in a strike rate of 185.45. Partnering with Nitesh Samuel, who remained undefeated on 60 off 73 balls, the duo amassed a formidable 135-run stand for the opening wicket.

Despite his dismissal after a brave aerial attempt, Malajczuk had already laid the groundwork for Australia's successful chase of Japan's 202-run target. Japan, showcasing resilience, posted 201/8, led by Hugo Tani-Kelly's unbeaten 79. Meanwhile, rain marred the Bangladesh vs New Zealand clash, resulting in an abandoned match as both teams shared points.
