In a significant announcement on Monday, Scotland unveiled its 15-member squad for the much-anticipated ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. This edition of the tournament, set to commence on February 7, will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Scotland's inclusion came after the International Cricket Council's decision to replace Bangladesh, following the Bangladesh Cricket Board's reluctance to send their team to India over security issues.

Scottish captain Richie Berrington will lead a team that has a history of appearances in six of the previous nine editions of the T20 World Cup. Alongside the main squad, Scotland has confirmed two travelling reserves and three non-travelling reserves. Cricket Scotland Head of Performance, Steve Snell, expressed confidence in the team's preparedness for the diverse challenges posed by sub-continental playing conditions. Snell emphasized the balanced nature of the squad, which caters to various scenarios and challenges.

Highlighting emerging talents, Snell praised Zainullah Ihsan's exciting skill set and pace, as well as Oli Davidson's dedication and improvement. Scotland's squad is poised to leave a mark on the international stage, facing formidable opponents including England, Italy, Nepal, and the West Indies in Group C. Their first match is slated for February 7 at Eden Gardens against the West Indies.
